Pope Francis: “I am not in good health”

Pope Francis said Monday morning during a meeting with rabbis from across Europe that he is not in good health. This news was released by the Italian news agency ANSA.

“Good morning, I greet you all and welcome you. Thank you for this visit which I am very pleased with, but it turns out that I am not in good health and therefore I prefer not to read the speech, but I give it to you so that they might take.”

The Pope must have spoken these words in a weary voice.

“Pope Francis is a bit cold and has a long audience day. He wanted to greet the European rabbis individually and for that reason he gave the speech. Otherwise, the pope’s activities will continue as normal,” said the director of the Vatican press office. Matteo Bruni.

Pope Francis will also meet with seven thousand children from around the world this Monday.

In June this year, the Pope was hospitalized for nine days after surgery to repair a hernia and remove painful scars. In March he was also hospitalized for a few days due to bronchitis.

In July this year, the Pope considered the possibility of resigning due to his health problems. He stated that resigning “would not be a disaster”.
