The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamist group Hamas, again accused Israel of blocking a prisoner exchange deal that would include the release of 50 to 70 Israeli hostages, including women and children.
Al-Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Obeida said in a video that Qatar is closing a deal that could result in the release of “200 children and 75 Palestinian women” held in Israeli prisons, although he pointed to “procrastination” by the Israeli authorities.
“The enemy requested the release of approximately 100 women and children held in Gaza”the al-Qassam Brigade spokesman said, before specifying that if a five-day ceasefire is agreed, 50 Israeli women and children could be released.
“The number could reach 70, given the presence of prisoners from different countries, as long as the ceasefire guarantees the access of humanitarian aid to our people throughout the Gaza Strip.”he explained.
However, Obeida reiterated that the Israeli occupation continues to delay this process and that Israel is avoiding doing its part, ignoring not only the lives of Palestinian civilians but also its own hostages.
The Brigade spokesman stated that a soldier, identified as Noa Marciano, who was kidnapped by the Islamist group on October 7, was killed in one of the Israeli bombardments on Gaza.
Israel accuses Hamas of committing “psychological terrorism” by releasing videos of the hostages, namely the one showing the corpse of 19-year-old soldier Noa Marciano.
On the other hand, Abu Obeida emphasized that “the occupying forces will continue to suffer the blows of the ‘mujahedin’ at every step they take” and insisted that “enemy leaders are sick and have impossible dreams of eliminating the resistance just as the failed leaders.” who held positions before them,” the Hamas-affiliated newspaper ‘Filastin’ said.
Meanwhile, authorities in the Gaza Strip announced that a group of 80 citizens with Spanish passports had been allowed to leave the enclave.
