Two Ukrainian drones have been shot down by anti-aircraft fire near Moscow

“On November 19 at 11:20 PM (8:30 PM GMT), an attempt by the Kiev regime to commit a terrorist act against targets in Moscow and the Moscow region using a ‘drone’ (…) was repulsed” , according to the statement released this evening by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Moscow Mayor Serguei Sobianin, in turn, added that the unmanned aircraft was shot down in the town of Elektrostal, about 50 kilometers east of Moscow.

“Air defenses repelled a drone attack in Elektostal on its way to Moscow,” Sobianin wrote on Telegram.

Preliminary data shows that the fall of the drone fragments did not cause any injuries or damage, he said.

This Sunday morning, Sobianin had already reported the destruction of a drone less than 100 kilometers from Moscow.

The military offensive that Russia launched in Ukraine on February 24, 2022 caused the worst refugee crisis in Europe since World War II (1939-1945), according to the most recent UN data.

The Russian invasion – justified by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the need to “denazify” and demilitarize Ukraine for Russia’s security – was condemned by most of the international community, which responded by sending weapons to Ukraine and impose political and economic sanctions on Russia.
