More than 120 immigrants disembark in the Canary Islands

This Monday Maritime Rescue and the Spanish Civil Guard rescued 122 people of sub-Saharan origin, including a baby, who were traveling in two boats south of the island of El Hierro, in the Canary Islands.

The Spanish authorities accompanied the two boats to the La Restinga dock, on the island of El Hierro.

In the first rescue, the Salvamar Adhara ship was tasked with accompanying 64 migrants – 60 men, three women and a baby – who were traveling on a boat that was located early this morning, when it was sailing 11 kilometers south from El Hierro. , a Spanish Maritime Rescue spokesperson informed the EFE news agency today.

The same boat and the Río Segura patrol boat of the Civil Guard accompanied, hours later, a second boat, which was transferred to the same dock, in El Hierro.

There were 58 sub-Saharan men on the boat who were 15 kilometers south of El Hierro, the same sources stated.
