Two people died and eight were injured, five of them seriously, confirmed the Israeli emergency services, in a new report of a shooting attack on one of the access roads to Jerusalem.
A 24-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and another man died later at the hospital, Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency medical services said.
The injured were taken to the Shaare Tzedek and Hadassah Ein Karem hospitals in Jerusalem.
The police confirmed the attack with “several victims” on one of the access roads to Jerusalem, near the train and bus station, and indicated that the two suspects “were neutralized on the spot.”
“Two terrorists, who arrived at the scene armed in a vehicle, fired at civilians at the bus stop and were neutralized by security forces and a civilian who was nearby,” a police spokesman said.
Jerusalem Police Chief Doron Turgeman said at a conference that he believed both attackers were from East Jerusalem.
“The information was received at 07:38 local time. [05h38 em Lisboa] of a terrorist attack on Weizmann Boulevard in Jerusalem,” the MDA initially reported.

The attack occurs in a climate of tension in the West Bank and Jerusalem, in parallel to the war in the Gaza Strip, where today the extension of the truce was agreed for one more day.
