Pope: ‘I’m doing much better, but I’m getting tired of talking’

Pope Francis assured this Wednesday that he is better from the recent bronchitis he had, but he preferred not to read the texts he had prepared for the general public because he still gets tired when he has to speak.

“Dear brothers and sisters, welcome everyone. Also today I asked Monsignor Ciampanelli for help [referindo-se a um dos seus assistentes] read it, because I still have trouble with it. I am much better, but I get tired of talking,” the Pope said at the start of the general audience in the Paul VI classroom.

The Vatican confirmed that Francis will go to Rome’s central Spanish Steps on Friday to pay tribute to the Immaculate Conception, following the recent ‘pneumonia’ that forced him to suspend some commitments and from which he is recovering with the help of antibiotics. .

The flu prompted him to suspend a number of events and his trip to the Dubai climate summit, as well as hold audiences at his papal residence, Casa Santa Marta, and the Sunday Angelus prayer at the Apostolic Palace.

At the same time, the Vatican confirmed the pope’s participation in the Mass for the Virgin of Guadalupe, patron saint of Latin America, on December 12 at 6 p.m. local time.
