Pope Francis returned to his normal activities this Thursday by giving different speeches to audiences in the Vatican, after receiving medical treatment for bronchitis, the international press reported.
Although his voice was still tired and he coughed a little, Francisco read the prepared speeches without problems and, as always, added some improvisations, according to the EFE agency.
On Wednesday, the Pope assured that he was feeling better, but preferred not to read the text prepared for the general audience, as he still felt very tired when speaking.
The Vatican confirmed that on Friday Francis will go to the Spanish Steps in Rome to pay tribute to the Immaculate Conception, after the recent “lung inflammation” that forced him to suspend some commitments.
The illness forced Francis to suspend his trip to the climate summit being held in Dubai. In addition, he was forced to hold his audiences in the papal residence – Casa Santa Marta – as well as the Sunday Angelus prayer, which normally takes place in the Apostolic Palace.
Likewise, the Vatican confirmed its participation in the mass of the Virgin of Guadalupe, patron saint of Latin America, on December 12.
