US gives preliminary authorization to sell 100 million ammunition to Israel

In response, the US Secretary of State, equivalent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in European governments, stated that “there are emergency reasons to approve this sale because it is in the best interest of the national security of the United States,” according to Efe. .

At stake are M830 A1 anti-tank explosive ammunition, caliber 120 millimeters, and other related equipment, worth 106.5 million dollars, about 98 million euros.

The ammunition will be used by the Israeli military “to defend against regional threats” and the shipment, if approved, “does not alter the basic military balance in the region,” the Pentagon says.
