The United Kingdom will deliver around 200 anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine so that the country attacked by Russia can strengthen its defenses, British Defense Minister Grant Shapps announced this Friday.

This Friday, Moscow carried out what is considered the largest attack since it invaded Ukraine almost two years ago, causing 18 deaths and 132 injuries, according to a provisional report.
Ukrainian authorities said Russia launched 122 missiles and 36 drones at targets across Ukraine in an attack that lasted 18 hours.
The Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have achieved “all the objectives” planned in the intense attack launched at dawn.
“The crimes that Russia committed today [esta sexta-feira] in Ukraine are their revenge for the inability to turn the tide of the battle against the Ukrainian defense forces,” the ministry said.

Ukraine’s Western allies have been supplying weapons to Ukrainian forces to fight Russian troops, who invaded the neighboring country on February 24, 2022.
After receiving new weapons, Ukraine launched a counteroffensive in June, but already acknowledged that the results were modest compared to expectations.
kyiv has complained about delays in decisions on arms shipments, including air assets, and has invested in the national defense industry to meet needs and avoid potential declines in aid provision.
Since the beginning of the year, the UK has sent Challenger 2 battle tanks, three AS-90 artillery batteries and hundreds of armored vehicles, Storm Shadow cruise missiles and long-range attack drones.
This British military aid to Ukraine exceeds 4.6 billion pounds (5.3 billion euros).
The British Army also trained tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers, including future pilots capable of flying F-16 fighter jets.
A first group of six riders completed part of their training in the United Kingdom last week and traveled to Denmark to continue their preparation.
