Philips workers will pay the cost of a mistake in the production of a sleeping respirator with layoffs.
The manufacturing defect cost the Dutch company a lawsuit and 1,300 million euros in damages, with serious consequences for the balance of the third quarter.
To respond to the losses, the company will lay off 4,000 workers, with compensation costs estimated at 300 million euros, AFP advances.
