The next decade will be the “most dangerous and unpredictable” since the end of World War II

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned Thursday that the next decade will be “the most dangerous and unpredictable” since World War II.

“Probably the most dangerous, unpredictable and, at the same time, important decade since the end of the Second World War” and “to a certain extent, revolutionary” will come, warned the Russian president.

During the Valdai discussion forum, held in Moscow, the Russian head of state assured that the country defends its “right to exist” against the West, which, in his opinion, wants to “destroy” it and accused the countries west of Russia of “playing dirty and dangerous games”.

“Russia is not challenging Western elites, it is just trying to defend its right to exist,” Vladimir Putin said.

In the opinion of the Russian president, “the historical period of absolute dominance of the West in the world is coming to an end” because “the unipolar world is becoming a thing of the past.”

The military offensive launched on February 24 by Russia in Ukraine has already caused the flight of more than 13 million people -more than six million internally displaced persons and more than 7.5 million to European countries-, according to the latest data from the UN, which places this refugee crisis as the worst in Europe since the Second World War (1939-1945).

The Russian invasion – justified by Russian President Vladimir Putin, with the need to “denazify” and demilitarize Ukraine for Russia’s security – was condemned by the generality of the international community, which has responded by sending weapons to Ukraine and imposing them on Russia. political and economic sanctions.
