Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Wednesday called U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, whom he is likely to face in the November presidential election, a “radical left-wing lunatic.”
“She will destroy our country,” the billionaire said during his first campaign rally since Joe Biden decided to drop out of the race for the White House and the fifty-year-old replaced the Democratic president in a short time.
Present in North Carolina and dressed in his traditional red tie, Donald Trump did not hold back a single blow against the vice president, to whom he gave a new nickname: “Kamala the liar.”
“A new victim to beat”
The Republican candidate also spoke at length about Joe Biden’s decision to give up running for a second term, accusing “the leaders of the Democratic Party” of having ousted him in a “very undemocratic” way.
“Now we have a new victim to defeat,” he said, before criticizing the vice president’s record, particularly on foreign policy and immigration.
“If we start to beat him, by 10 or 15 points in the polls, do you think they will send us a third candidate?” he said then.
Some of his supporters in the crowd wore a T-shirt commemorating the moment when Donald Trump raised his fist, his ear bleeding, in defiance after the assassination attempt on him on July 13.
