Joe Biden Confuses Ukraine and Iraq During Midterm Election Rally

The president of the United States mentioned the “war in Iraq” during a campaign speech, instead of the conflict in Ukraine. He quickly rectified, but taking a new approach.

New blunder of the president of the United States. Joe Biden confused Ukraine and Iraq during a speech Tuesday in Florida, as part of a meeting for the midterm elections, scheduled for November 9.

“Inflation is a global problem right now because of the war in Iraq,” the head of state initially advances, before quickly recovering: “Excuse me, the war in Ukraine.”

“I think of Iraq because my son died there,” he explains then, in a new approach.

One of Joe Biden’s sons died of brain cancer in 2015, but on US soil. A former soldier, he had fought in Iraq and the US president has already said that he was convinced that his son had become ill from toxic fumes inhaled in the Middle East.

repeated mistakes

Joe Biden is not his first blunder. Last September he addressed a Republican parliamentarian who had died the previous month, during a speech dedicated to the fight against obesity and food insecurity. “Where’s Jackie?” she asked about Jackie Walorski, an elected highly committed to fighting malnutrition, who disappeared in a car accident.

In late October, images of a disoriented Joe Biden also raised questions. “Where are we going?” asked the president, while he participated in the planting of a tree in the gardens of the White House.

Nicknamed “Sleepy Joe” (“Sleepy Joe”) by his detractors during the 2020 US presidential campaign, the soon-to-be-80-year-old Democrat is regularly attacked for his health.
