Midterms in the United States: Donald Trump denounces alleged electoral anomalies

The former US president, who hopes to return to the White House in 2024, is already pointing out on social networks what he considers irregularities in these mid-term elections.

It already denounces anomalies in certain states. Donald Trump reacted on his social network Truth Social to the mid-term elections that take place this Tuesday in the United States. Although the first polling stations have closed in some states but many Americans are still voting, the former White House tenant is not waiting to raise what he describes as irregularities.

“Some of the voting machines in Arizona are not working in conservative Republican areas. Is it happening again? People will not accept it!” writes the former Republican president on his social network.

Donald Trump is referring here to technical problems encountered on certain machines in Maricopa County, Arizona. “Around 20%” of the 223 polling stations have “a problem” with the machines in charge of reading the ballots, Bill Gates, director of the body that runs this region, explained on Twitter.

The states of Pennsylvania and Michigan noted

“Pennsylvania has just announced that it will take several days to determine the winner,” Donald Trump also wrote, calling this situation “scandalous” in this state where the results are likely to be tight.

Finally, Donald Trump also called his followers to “protest” after stating that some voters in the city of Detroit (Michigan) were unable to vote at their polling station. A statement that prompted the Michigan Secretary of State to react on Twitter: “Not true. Do not spread lies to encourage political violence in our state or elsewhere.”

A response that does not risk curbing the ambitions of the billionaire, determined to regain power. In an interview with Business Insider that aired Tuesday, Donald Trump said he “should get all the credit” if he wins the GOP and “not be blamed” if his side loses in this midterm election.
