US streaming service Netflix announced Thursday that comedian Chris Rock will be the first artist to perform at the company’s first global live streaming event.
The comedy special is scheduled to air in early 2023, but not many details have been revealed.
“Chris Rock is one of the most iconic and important comedic voices of our generation,” Robbie Praw, Netflix’s vice president of stand-up and comedy formats, said in a statement.

This will be the first big test of live streaming on Netflix, opening the door for other shows to get the same treatment.
