Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday that his country will not participate in the next G20 summit in Indonesia if Russian President Vladimir Putin is also present.
“If the leader of the Russian Federation participated, Ukraine would not participate”Zelensky stressed at a joint press conference with Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou in Kyiv.
Putin has yet to say whether he will attend.
Between November 13 and 16, the Indonesian island of Bali will host the G20 summit (Germany, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, South Korea, United States, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Turkey and the European Union), which Indonesian President Joko Widodo announced in August, will be attended by Putin and Xi Jinping.
Joe Biden will also participate in the meeting, the White House confirmed about a week ago.
Ukraine is not part of the G20, but was invited to the summit by the President of Indonesia.
