Human strike in Soumy: The Ukrainian government will dismiss the regional governor, accused of negligence

The Soumy government is accused by several elected officials of negligence after the Russian strike that caused 35 people on Sunday.

The Ukrainian government approved the dismissal of the Regional Governor of Soumy on Tuesday, April 15, accused of negligence by some officials after a double Russian missile strike that killed 35 and more than 100 injured in the city last Sunday.

A vice president and the mayor of a city in this region accused Governor Volodymyr Artioukh of having authorized a decoration ceremony to the soldiers in Soumy on Sunday, believing that he would have served as a pretext for Russia to attack the city.

“Mediocre Manager”

The Government announced on Tuesday that it approved a presidential decree project on the governor’s dismissal, but the formal decision on its dismissal has not yet been published and no official explanation has been provided.

A high Ukrainian official told AFP that the governor’s work has been considered unsatisfactory for a while, describing Volodymyr Artioukh as a “very mediocre manager” in this position he had occupied for two years.

The strike against Soumy, one of the most mortal in three years of Russian invasion in Ukraine, has become “the last tragic fall” that led to his dismissal, added to this manager speaking under the cover of anonymity.

The Russian army said in a statement on Monday that their forces had attacked, pulling two Iskander Balistic missiles, “the place of a” military meeting in Soumy. While this strike that has killed many civilians aroused consternation in the world, he returned the accusations to Ukraine by accusing her of organizing such events “in the center of a densely populated city.”
