“Jacob Vereb received money in exchange for private cremation services, then threw many animals at high and provided clients with ashes to other unknown animals,” said Sunday’s prosecutor Pennsylvania Dave in a statement.

The investigation allowed to identify more than 6,500 victims who requested the Voteb funeral company Home and Eternity Pet Memorial between 2021 and 2024. The authorities specify that the scam only refers to the animals and not to the human bodies occupied by the company.
A dozen veterinary companies have collaborated with the researchers, which revealed that Jacob Vereb received more than $ 650,000 for their fraudulent activities.
“This issue is disturbing and will cause devastation and sadness to many Pennsylvanians,” the prosecutor deplored. “Our pets are part of our families and this defendant betrayed and tormented the owners who had entrusted the responsibility of providing decent attention to their beloved cats and dogs.”
Due to the large number of victims, the Attorney General has established a website to inform them about the progress of the survey. The latter is still in progress.
