A collision between a tourist minibus and a truck left seven dead near Yellowstone National Park in the northwest of the United States, the local police announced on Friday, May 2.
The accident took place on Thursday night near Lake Henrys in Idaho. The bus had 14 people. “Unfortunately, six people aboard the minibus, as well as the driver of the truck, lost their lives in the accident,” said the state police in a statement.
Wounded transported to the Hospital by helicopter
The images transmitted by the US media show a strongly damaged red car and a minibus in flames. Some victims were transported to the hospital by helicopter, “due to the seriousness of their wounds,” police said.
The authorities did not give elements about the identity or nationality of the people involved in the accident.
According to the residents cited by the media, the road to a single route where the drama took place very frequently, because it leads to one of the entrances to Yellowstone National Park.
Millions of tourists, Americans and foreigners, go to this National Park every year, which is the first created in the United States. It extends over part of Wyoming, Idaho and Montana.
The park is known for its geothermal activity and houses an impressive amount of hot sources and speakers.
