Cassava flour to survive

The pilot explained that when the plane began to lose altitude, without any reason, he looked for a plain to perform an emergency landing and found only one swamp near a lagoon.

“We spent almost 36 hours without being able to sleep,” added Andrés Velarde, managed to survive feeding on cassava flour that one of the passengers had brought. “We couldn’t drink water or move due to the caimanes,” he said.

In the department of Beni, in the heart of the Amazon, the trip is mainly by plane due to the bad road condition.
