It is the first trial of a former president accused of attempted coup after the last military dictatorship (1964-1985). The former president (2019-2022) affirms his innocence, telling himself victim of political “persecution.
In a message posted on Sunday morning on social networks, Jair Bolsonaro thanked the doctors and declared that he was going home “fresh and fixed.” He added that his “next challenge” would be to participate in a political demonstration next Wednesday in Brasilia.
The demonstration aims to support an amnesty bill in Congress for those sentenced to assault on places of power in January 2023 in the Brazilian capital.
The Lead -Right leader has been operated several times in recent years due to the sequels of the attack of which he was a victim in September 2018 against a crowd in the middle of the campaign, a few weeks before winning the presidential elections.
