The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, said on Thursday, May 8, on the eve of May 9 celebrations in Russia, for the 80th anniversary of victory over Nazi Germany, that the Russian military parade will only be “parade of cynicism” and “lie”, in a speech.
“Everything that occupies ends our land. Life always resumes. And that is what we are fighting today. This is what will happen one day,” he concluded.
The “evil” Russian must be “fought together, with determination, strongly”, called Volodymyr Zelensky again, turning off, in the center of the city of kyiv, more than three years after the beginning of the Russian invasion in Ukraine, which made tens of thousands of deaths.
A HIGH UNILATERAL RUSSIAN FIRE
This discourse that promotes the resilience of the Ukrainian people occurs a few hours after the entry into force of a high ordered fire unilaterally by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Volodymyr Zelensky strongly criticized this initiative, saying “not to believe” that the Russian army would respect this truce.
This high fire must last three days, until Saturday at 11 pm Paris time, on the occasion of commemorations for the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany.
Request “greater pressure” in Moscow
Volodymyr Zelensky also asked for a “considerably increased pressure” in Moscow after the mortal Russian attacks in kyiv during the night.
The Kremlin programmed great celebrations in Moscow on Friday, which must attend around twenty foreign leaders, along with Vladimir Putin, whose army still occupies 20% of the Ukrainian territory.
These commemorations occupy a central place in the patriotic worship of the 1945 victory promoted by the Russian president, who argues that the great invasion of Ukraine scale is an extension of the war against Hitler.
