The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, announces in his account X the shipment this Tuesday, May 13, a “negotiation delegation to Doha” in Qatar to obtain the release of the remaining hostages in Gaza.
“I clearly indicated that the negotiations would only take place under the fire of the attacks,” said the Israeli leader.
Benjamin Netanyahu, who met the American emissary Steve Witkoff and Ambassador Mike Huckabee in Jerusalem, also thanked Donald Trump for his help for the release of the Hostage Israeli Edan Alexander, waited on Monday at the Gaza Strip.
Edan Alexander, the only living hostage that had American nationality still held in Gaza, was eliminated while using an elite unit in southern Israel, during the unprecedented attack on October 7, 2023 by Hamas.
New negotiations with Hamas
In a statement on Sunday, Hamas said he was “ready to start immediately intensive negotiations in order to reach a final agreement on the end of the war, the exchange (of Israeli hostages for the Palestinian prisoners), the management of Gaza by an independent organization (…) in addition to the reconstruction and the end of the asief.”
Hamas has confirmed contacts with the US administration after two movement officials talked about “direct discussions” with the United States.
At the beginning of March, the United States, which considers Hamas as a terrorist organization, reported the first direct contacts with the Palestinian movement, led by the special American envoy for Hostages, Adam Boehler, after consulting with Israel.
After a two -month truce, Israel took over March 18, its offensive in Gaza, blocking humanitarian aid and causing many civil victims. On May 5, the State announced a plan of “conquest” of the enclave that foresaw a massive movement of its population, which aroused numerous convictions throughout the world.
