Peter Sullivan’s sister, Kim Smith, told journalists after the hearing is “delighted” for the Court of Appeals. But “it is a shame that everything has happened,” he added.

The Merseyside police explained that the DNA test was not available during the initial investigation. The police “will do everything” to find the person whose DNA has left the scene in which Diane Sindall died, said Chief researcher Karen Jandrill, deplorating that “the identified DNA does not correspond to any other in the national database.”
