An American couple of New Jersey (United States) was arrested and accused of having kidnapped their daughter, sexually assaulted and forced to live in a dog cage for seven years, said the county prosecutor on Wednesday, May 14.
The victim, now 18, fled from his mother’s house, Brenda Spencer 38 years and her Beu-Père Branndon Mosley, 41, on May 8, thanks to the help of a neighbor.
Chained in a bathroom
In 2018, Brenda Spencer had “retired his daughter from the school” to “confine her,” said prosecutor Macauley and the police chief of the city of Gloucester in a joint statement.
Shortly after being confined to the house, the victim “said he was forced to live, for approximately one year, in a dog cage, of which he was left out alone,” said Grace Macauley.
For a period of seven years, the adolescent was retained in “captivity”, also forced to live chained in a bathroom with a padlock or in an empty room with a movement detector that warned the couple in case of an escape attempt. The girl was released by her parents only during visits to family members, before being replaced in captivity.
“This is one of the most horrible cases I have met,” said the Chief of Police at the canton of Gloucester, David Harkins, at a press conference on Wednesday.
According to the American television channel ABC News, the younger sister of the 13 -year -old victim was also withdrawn from school about her parents for fear “that told someone,” authorities said. The two young people were placed safe.
