The nationalist candidate Karol Nawrocki won the Polish presidential elections against the Liberal Mayor of Warsaw, Rafal Trzawski, according to the official results published on Monday, June 2, which inflicts a great success in the country’s pro -European government.

According to the data of the National Electoral Commission, Karol Nawrocki won 50.89% of the votes against 49.11% for Rafal Trzawski in the second round of the Sunday elections, whose results highlight the polarization in the NATO member country and the EU.

Karol Nawrocki is a nationalist historian specialist in the criminal world and admirer of US president Donald Trump. His victory runs the risk of blocking the progressive program of the Government on private abortion and LGBT+ rights and could revive tensions with Brussels on issues of application of the law.
