The Kremlin said on Wednesday, June 4 that the attack of the previous day for Ukraine the day before the Crimea bridge, which is linked to the Russian territory that this peninsula attached to Moscow, had not hurt, just talking about an “explosion.”
Ukraine security services (SBU) had claimed on Tuesday a new attack on this work already directed several times since the beginning of the Russian assault in Ukraine in February 2022. They had assured that they had inflicted “severe damage” and transmitted a video, not authenticated, showing an underwater explosion near a pillar of the bridge.
“The bridge works”
Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov confirmed on Wednesday that there was “in fact an explosion.” But “nothing has been damaged, the bridge works,” he added during his daily press information session.
Inaugurated in 2018, this work, 19 kilometers long, is for Russian power one of the symbols of the annexation in 2014 of Crimea.
After the start of the great large -scale offensive against Ukraine, he was damaged twice for the attacks that Kyiv said: in October 2022 with a truck caught and in July 2023 with naval drones.
Since then, the Russian authorities have largely reinforced the surveillance of this bridge, which especially allows to send military troops and teams to Crimea Annexada.
