The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, had his first telephone interview with the new Pope Leo XIV, and exchanged with him for the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
First contact. The Kremlin announces that Vladimir Putin exchanged by phone with Pope Leo XIV, which the Russian president thanked for his desire to help war in Ukraine.
During this call, Vladimir Putin said he wanted to reach peace by “diplomatic” media, but accused kyiv of looking for “climbing” of hostilities.
“Vladimir Putin caught attention to the fact that the kyiv regime is focusing on the climbing of the conflict and performs sabotage actions against civil infrastructure in the Russian territory,” said the Kremlin in a statement.
