New drama in the United States. At least 5 people have been killed and 18 wounded in a shooting Saturday night at an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado, US police said Sunday.
“There was a shooting at a local club tonight. We have eighteen people injured and five dead,” said police spokeswoman Pamela Castro.
She said a suspect has already been located. “The suspect is currently in care, but he has been taken into custody,” she said.
The motives for this attack have not yet been determined, according to the police.
A ‘senseless attack’
“Club Q is devastated by the senseless attack on our community,” the nightclub posted on Facebook on Sunday.
It also appreciates the “quick reactions of the heroic customers who subdued the shooter and put an end to this hateful attack.”
Firefighters said 11 ambulances were dispatched to the scene to treat the injured.
