Guerra in Gaza: The unions and leftist parties call to demonstrate this Saturday for Palestine

The unions, the leftist parties and the groups requested a “massive” mobilization this Saturday, June 14 in Paris and in other important cities to claim peace in Gaza and the recognition of the state of Palestine.

Five unions, leftist and collective parties in favor of the rights of the Palestinians require mobilization throughout France this Saturday, June 14, especially with a unitary demonstration in Paris, to claim peace in Gaza and the recognition of the state of Palestine.

CFDT, CGT, UNSA, Solidarares and FSU asked in common to mobilize “massively” on June 14 in Paris and France, as part of a world weekend of mobilizations.

The call was launched before the massive Israeli attack against Iran, which raises fears of an armed conflict between the two regional powers.

“We manifest ourselves to request a high immediate fire, the cessation of genocide, the entry of humanitarian aid, the application of international law quite simply,” explains Linda Sehili, National Secretary of Solidados. “We are in a dramatic situation.”

Annie Ernaux, Angèle, Pierre Lemaitre …

The unions joined the left parts such as LFI, PS, PCF and EELV. The National Collective for a fair and lasting peace between the Palestinians and Israelis (CNPJDPI), Attac or even Palestine Emergency Associate this call to mobilization.

In Paris, the demonstration will leave at 2 pm from the place of the République to join the place of the nation. Meetings are also planned in Marseille, Montpellier, Bordeaux, Rennes, Lyon and Strasbourg.

Several personalities of the arts and the show, including the Nobel Prize for Literature, Annie Ernaux, singer Angèle, rapper Medina, actress Anna Mouglalis or the Goncourt Pierre Lemaitre prize called to join the processions and meetings on a platform published in the L’Emanité newspaper.

In their joint press release, the unions demand the recognition of the state of Palestine and denounce the “genocidal intentions” of the Israeli government that “leads Israel in a moral bankruptcy.”

Breaking a two -month truce, Israel resumed its offensive in mid -March at the Gaza Strip, and intensified its military operations on May 17, to destroy the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, to free the last remaining hostages and take control of the territory. More than 54,880 Palestinians, mainly civil, were killed in the Israeli retaliation offensive in Gaza, according to data from the Hamas Ministry of Health, considered reliable by the UN.
