The Civil Defense of the Gaza Strip on Tuesday said that the Israeli forces had killed more than 50 people gathered near a food distribution center in Khan Younès, in the south of the Palestinian territory.
According to the spokesman for these rescue services, Mahmoud Bassal, at least 53 people died and more than 200 wounds when thousands of Palestinians gathered near an aid center.
“The Israeli drones fired people. A few minutes later, Israeli tanks fired several shells,” he said.
The Israeli army says that “examines” the facts
Contacted by several journalists, the Israeli army said that “he examined” the facts, noting that a “demonstration was identified near a help distribution truck that was beaten in the Khan Younès sector and near the troops (Israelis) that operated in the area.”
According to the Ministry of Health of the Government of Hamas, which denounced “a terrible massacre”, “51 martyrs and more than 200 injured” were transported to the Nasser hospital in Khan Younès. “There are dozens of martyrs who are still on the ground and others that have been reduced in pieces by projectiles that have fallen directly among civilians,” said a manager.
Mohammad Abu Amer, present at the scene, said that target people were “ordinary and unarmed people” who “had gone to buy bread and flour for their children.”
According to the civil defense, the Israeli army also murdered four other people near Rafah.
