The United States announced on Tuesday, June 17 on Tuesday, June 17, closed its embassy in Jerusalem for security reasons, the fifth day of military confrontation between Israel and Iran, while speculation about a possible US intervention intensifies.
“Due to the security situation and according to the command of the Israeli Internal Front, the United States embassy in Jerusalem will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday, June 18) until Friday (June 20),” said a notice published on the site of the American Embassy.
“Due to the current security situation and the current conflict between Israel and Iran, the United States embassy has asked all employees of the United States government and family members to continue taking refuge inside and close to their residence to a notice,” added the opinion.
A “working group” to inform American citizens
The State Department announced on Tuesday the establishment of a “working group” to help American citizens in the Middle East to keep informed about the evolution of the conflict.
The United States advises against Americans who go in particular to Israel and Iraq and, especially, not travel to Iran, “be the circumstances.”
The United States has already reduced the registration of its embassy in Iraq for safety reasons and authorized non -essential personnel, as well as their relatives, to leave this country and Israel.
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, met Tuesday with his National Security Council, after calling Iran’s surrender after the Israeli offensive to destroy the Iranian nuclear program.
