Israel denounces a “deliberate” attack. The Soroka hospital located in Beersheva, in southern Israel, was hit this Thursday, June 19 after the Iranian missile fire. “Important damage” has been observed.
“A shot has affected the hospital, causing significant damage to several areas. We are currently evaluating the damage, including (possible number of) injured,” the hospital said in a statement.
This attack could have significant consequences for Israel. In fact, this hospital is the second largest in the country, and the closest to the Gaza Strip, only 35 kilometers, according to the establishment site and the Times of Israel.
The establishment is “in the front line to provide intensive care to Israeli lesions,” the Soroka hospital wrote.
Thousands of soldiers and civilians in a few months
Therefore, since the beginning of the war in Gaza, he launched after the attack on Hamas perpetrated on October 7, 2023, the hospital has become “the main destination to evacuate the injured in Gaza.” The Times of Israel spoke in June 2024 about 3,000 soldiers and civilians served in the eight months space.
“They know exactly what they do when they play a hospital,” the Israeli ambassador reacted in France in BFMTV, adding that Iranian missiles are “precise, at a level of accuracy of 30 meters.”
“His goal is to kill as many civilians as possible,” said Joshua Zarka, believing that these strikes were “deliberate.”
The investigation is underway at the hospital to find possible victims. The wing dedicated to surgery, affected by the strike, had been evacuated a few days ago.
