A 25 -year -old man, suspected of having tried to withdraw the mayor of Memphis, in Tennessee, was arrested by the police in the United States this Wednesday, June 18. It should be submitted to a court this Friday, inform our NBC News colleagues.
This man had sounded with the mayor, Paul Young, on the night of Sunday, June 15. “A man jumped on the wall leading to our subdivision. We now know that he went directly to our house, hitting the door, full pockets and nervous air,” said the councilor, in a publication shared on Facebook.
A taser, a rope and a tape in your vehicle
He had hit the door, but had not obtained an answer. The facts were filmed by a surveillance chamber, transmitted to the Police.
The man was accused of attempted kidnapping, harassment and aggravated criminal intrusion and was arrested. “At the time of their arrest, the agents recovered a taser, gloves, a rope and an adhesive tape in their vehicle,” police told NBC News.
The tension increased from a notch to Memphis after this event, the inhabitants were very concerned about their safety. “We understand the concerns raised by this incident and want to ensure the public the fact that the Memphis Police Department remains completely committed to the safety of all residents, including the elected officials of our city,” said the police.
This incident occurs a few days after the murder of a chosen local democratic representative and her husband and the murder attempt of another elected official and his wife, at home, on Friday night June 14. The alleged author was arrested on Sunday.
