Directed nuclear sites, non -slip bombs … what we know about the US attacks carried out in Iran

The United States led strikes against three Iranian nuclear sites on Saturday, June 22 on Sunday, June 22. These attacks “will have eternal consequences,” Tehran warned.

Donald Trump did not wait for the end of his two weeks of reflection to decide to intervene in Iran. After days of vagueness, the United States attacked three Iranian nuclear sites this Sunday, June 22, June 22. According to Donald Trump, these strikes have “completely destroyed” the country’s enrichment capabilities in the country.

• Ispahran, Natanz and Fordo’s sites attacked

According to Donald Trump, a “full bomb load” was dropped into three of the main Iranian nuclear sites: Ispahan, Natanz and Fordo.

Built in violation of UN resolutions, Tehran presented the underground installation of Fordo (center) as a high -price uranium enrichment factory that can accommodate some centrifugal 3,000. This is where uranium particles enriched in 83.7%were detected in early 2023. Iran had invoked “involuntary fluctuations” during the enrichment process.

The Natanz factory, in the center of the country, is undoubtedly the best known of Iranian nuclear sites. Its existence was revealed in 2002. It has two buildings, one underground and the other on the surface, for a total of almost 70 centrifuge waterfalls, or more than 10,000 of these machines used to enrich uranium.

The installation of ISPAHAN is for its conversion plant from A. makes it possible to produce necessary gases for uranium enrichment.

• Street bombs and anti-bunker pumps

Donald Trump did not give details about the weapons used to attack the Iranian program. But given the underground configuration of Fordo, the GBU-57 type anti-bum bombs were probably removed. These ojas of 13 currencies can sink up to 60 meters deep before exploiting, according to the US army.

They are distinguished in this of most missiles or other bombs, which detonate the impact. The proof of these weapons began in 2004 and Boeing won a contract in 2009 to establish them in the airplanes.

The only devices capable of transporting GBU-57 (two by plane) are the stealthy bombers of American B-2 spirit. These planes can fly more than 9,600 kilometers without supply and are made to “penetrate the most sophisticated enemy defenses and threaten their most important and more solidly defended objectives,” according to the US army.

The B-2 model was shown to the public for the first time in 1988, before flying the following year and being delivered to the Army in 1993. It was deployed against the Serbian forces in the 1990s, making the first leg between Missouri and Kosovo without stopping. Then, during the Wars of Afghanistan and Iraq, in the 2000s.

• For Trump, “Peace time has come”

After the US attacks, Iran must “now accept to end this war,” said Donald Trump, launching: “Peace time has hit.” Then he said, during a speech before the nation, that all Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities were “completely destroyed.”

“Remember that there are many objectives, this night was, with much, the most difficult of all (…). But if peace does not come quickly, we will go to these other objectives with precision, speed and competition,” he warned.

Israel, meanwhile, thanked the US president for helping “peace by force”, his prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu saw the Middle East to a “point of historical inflection.”

The UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, was worried about a “dangerous escalation” that represented a “direct threat to peace and security in the world.”

• Iran threat “eternal consequences”

The American attacks “will not stop” Tehran’s nuclear activities, reacted on the other hand in the Iranian atomic agency, which described them as a “barbaric act.”

“This morning’s events are scandalous and will have eternal consequences,” said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in X, denouncing “extremely dangerous, anarchic and criminal behavior of the United States. “Iran reserve all the options to defend their sovereignty, their interests and their people,” he added.

A few hours after the strikes, Tehran launched a new missile ointment directed to Israel. Explosions in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv have been significantly heard.
