Before/after – American strikes on Iran: satellite images show the damage caused to the Nuclear Site of Fordo

Early this Sunday, June 22, the United States led an attack against three Iranian nuclear sites, dropping a “full bomb burden” in Fordo’s.

More than a week after the bombings launched by Israel in Three Iranian nuclear sitesOn June 13, Washington in turn arrived in the country this Sunday morning, joining Tel Aviv’s war against Tehran at a decisive moment for the Middle East.

At the end of the “Midnight Hammer” operation, described as “very successful”, President Donald Trump said that US air attacks had “completely destroyed” the main Iranian nuclear sites, namely those of Fordo, Natanz and Ispahan.

Fordo, an underground strength

If three Iranian nuclear sites have been affected, “a full charge of bombs was dropped on the main site, Fordo”, located in the province of Qom, 180 kilometers from Tehran. Fordo, the largest nuclear site in Iran, accommodates up to 3,000 centrifugers buried below approximately 80 meters of rocks and responsible for enriching uranium by 83.7 %.

The pumps, type GBU-57 anti-smunker, released by the United States, therefore, penetrated the basement of the site, before exploiting up to 60 meters deep. A first for Washington. In the satellite images disseminated by Maxar technologies, we can clearly discern the impact.

After the launch of American attacks in Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Donald Trump for the “daring” attack of the United States against Iranian nuclear sites, saying that he was creating a “point of historical inflection” that probably leads to the Middle East to peace. “Thank you, the people of Israel thank you,” Benjamin Netanyahu told a video message addressed to the US president.

“There is no danger” for the population

Despite US attacks, the Regional Crisis Management Service indicated in a press release that the population of QOM, a city near the Nuclear Site of Fordo, feared any danger. The risk of cancellation is zero, according to the National Center of the Nuclear Safety System, depending on the Iranian Organization of Atomic Energy.

However, with these attacks, Donald Trump warned Iran against all “reprisals” to the United States. The United States will respond “with a much greater force than the one observed tonight,” said the US president on his social social platform.

A warning, ignored by Iran who said that American bombings will have “eternal consequences.” “They will reserve all the options to defend their sovereignty, their interests and its people,” said Iranian diplomacy manager Abbas Araghty.
