Several students were killed and dozens of other injured in the explosion of the electric transformer of their high school in Bangui, in the middle of the high school, the government said in a statement on Wednesday, June 25.

“The supervisors began to flee the first. We also fled to save ourselves. This is how we jumped from the first floor,” said AFP Michael Jordy Yerima, 20, hospitalized by a fracture of the foot.
“The hospital was invaded”
At the time of the explosion, around 1 PM, just over 5,300 students planned the tests of the second day of the Baccalaureate. An important security device, composed of disappointment, police and peace gendarmes, has been placed at school and hospitals.
