A fugitive less free. One of the ten detainees who had escaped from his prison in New Orleans in Louisiana was arrested, the local police announced on Friday, June 27 in a statement. Eight of them had already been arrested and only one is released.
“Antoine Massey, one of the last two people involved in the recent escape of the Orleans Justice Center, was captured in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the Hollygrove district,” police announced.
“His arrest was possible thanks to tireless efforts and the collaboration of several organizations responsible for the application of the law,” they say without further details.
“Too easy”
The 33 -year -old man was arrested a few kilometers from the prison where he was arrested, after the police received “information,” police told CNN. He was put into police custody without difficulty.
Thirty were not in their first escape. In 2007, he had already fled a detention center for minors, after being arrested for suspicion of armed robbery.
Antoine Massey escaped running last May with her prison with another 9 prisoners, including a delivery door during the night. They wrote on a wall, on the hole where they would have fled: “Too easy hahaha.”
$ 50,000 promised as a reward
Currently, only one of the detainees who had still escaped is free. It is Derrick Groves, born in 1997, an American declared guilty of the murder of two people in 2018. He then declared assault and injuries to a penitentiary agent.
“We urgently ask anyone with information about the place immediately communicated with local police forces,” he calls the police, who recommends “not to approach the individual to the career.
“We are going to capture it,” warned the head of the New Orleans Police Department, Anne Kirkpatrick, at a press conference during which he went directly to the fugitive.
A woman was arrested in early June, suspected of having helped Derrick Groves escape from prison. According to the authorities, he exchanged SMS videos and calls with the detainee in the days before his escape.
A $ 50,000 reward is offered to anyone who provides information about the place where the escaped prisoner is. “It can remain in anonymity, but we need your help,” the police call.
