In June 2025, a first attempt to join the Palestinian enclave resulted in a failure. A total of 12 activists, including environmental activist Greta Thunberg and MEP LFI, left Italy, aboard a sailboat to reach the gaza strip. Objective: “Break the Israeli block” tax on the Palestinian territory. But the boat was arrested by the Israeli Navy, about 185 kilometers from the coast of Gaza.
On board, the boat contained medications, food or even baby supplies for gazanis, is prey to a disastrous humanitarian situation after more than a year and a half of war.
