The Kremlin said Monday, July 21, ready to participate in new peace negotiations with Ukraine, while claiming that the date of such conversations had not yet been established and that “much work” would be needed to bring the positions of the two camps closer.
“We are here to maintain a third cycle (after two failed meetings in spring in Istanbul, note of the editor). As soon as a date has been established, we will inform you,” said the spokesman for the Russian presidency, Dmitri Peskov.
On Saturday, the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, had offered Moscow to celebrate new peace talks this week, currently at a dead point.
