The Interpol File Control Commission raised on Tuesday, July 22, the red notice aimed at the arrest, at Japan, of the American-Canadian environmental activist Paul Watson, a figure in defense of the whales, said William Julié, one of his lawyers.
Interpol estimated that this measure, which had been suspended in April, was “disproportionate,” according to him.
Paul Watson, 75, was arrested in Greenland for five months, before Denmark rejects an extradition request from Japan, which accuses him of being represented for damages and injuries aboard a Japanese whaling ship in 2010 as part of a campaign of the Pastor del Mar Ongo.
