Guerra in Gaza: Hamas responded to the proposal of Israeli truce

Hamas said he has given his response to the proposal of Israeli truce for a high 60 -day fire in the Gaza Strip, as part of the fighters who have lasted more than two weeks.

Hamas confirmed this Thursday, July 24 that he has presented his response to the Israeli proposal of a high fire in Gaza, while the negotiators of both fields have indirect discussions in Qatar.

“Hamas has just submitted to mediators his response and that of the Palestinian factions to the proposal of Alto El Fuego,” said the Palestinian Islamist movement in a statement published on Telegram.

The answer included amendments offered to the clauses on the entry of humanitarian aid, maps of the areas of which the Israeli army should withdraw and guarantees at the permanent end of the war, a Palestinian source close to the current conversations in Doha told AFP anterr.

Negotiators are trying to reach an agreement on a truce that would allow the release of ten Israeli hostages in exchange for an indefinite number of Palestinian prisoners.

But these conversations have extended for more than two weeks without advances, each camp accuses the other for refusing to give their key requests.

Hamas accused of obstructing

For Israel, the dismantling of Hamas military and government capacities is not negotiable, while the movement requires firm guarantees for sustainable breakup, a total withdrawal of Israeli troops and the free movement of humanitarian aid in Gaza.

Israeli government spokesman David Mencer accused Hamas on Wednesday of hindering discussions.

“Israel has accepted Qatar’s proposal, as well as the updated proposal of (special envoy American Steve) Witkoff is Hamas, who refuses,” he told reporters, and added that Israeli negotiators were still in Doha and that the discussions continued.

The United States said on Tuesday that Steve Witkoff would go to Europe this week to talk about Gaza, and that he could then go to the Middle East.

Steve Witkoff begins this trip with “The firm expects us to reach a new high fire, as well as a humanitarian corridor for the delivery of the help that the two parties, in fact, accepted,” said state department spokesman Tammy Bruce, Tuesday.
