Nash, a great premature man, has just celebrated his first birthday in early July in the United States. “It’s a victory,” he celebrates his mother, Mollie Keen, in the US media.
Nash was born on July 5, 2024, at 21 weeks of amenorrhea, 133 days before the scheduled date. A birth that makes it the most premature baby in the world, recognized by the book by Records Guiness.
24 centimeters and less than 284 grams
At birth, Nash weighed less than 284 grams and measured approximately 24 centimeters. Transported in an emergency in an intensive neonatal care unit in Iowa, he survived his doctor described as “many critical challenges.”
A difficult test also for their parents, Mollie and Randall. His mother was able to hold his son for the first time in his arms only when the latter had three weeks, still covered with infusions.
“It was so small that I barely felt it in my chest,” he told People.
It was not until six months after Nash could discover his home and go home with his parents.
“Pride and gratitude”
Today, the young man still needs medical attention. Nash is under oxygen, carries headphones and has a cable to help you eat. This did not prevent him from growing and celebrating his birthday as it should be.
“It’s very moving,” said his mother. “I feel pride, gratitude, even a little sadness for this experience that was very different. But above all, it is a victory.”
For his 1 year son, Nash received many gifts and even had the authorization of his doctors to try his birthday cake, including a creamy whipped cream.
