An armed man sowed terror this Monday, July 28 at night in a skyscraper in the center of New York, killing at least four people before committing suicide, said several US media.
“Four people, including a New York police officer, were killed,” said a police officer, added that the shooter is obviously dead after having returned his weapon against himself, which ABC News also writes.
The “lonely shooter” was “neutralized,” said Jessica Tisch, the largest police officer in the United States.
Many police officers deployed
At the end of Monday afternoon, many police officers, some of whom have bulletproof vests and weighted weapons, as well as ambulances, gathered under office buildings in the Midtown Manhattan Hupé district, noticed an AFP journalist.
According to the American media, the attacker entered around 6 PM in 345, Park Avenue, a large office building and headquarters of the Professional League for American Football (NFL) and the Blackstone finance giant.
Several media, including CNN and the New York Post, show a photograph of a whispering man who walks only in the street with a long rifle in his right hand, dressed in sunglasses and a dark jacket.
