Donald Trump, who remodeled the White House to your liking, will add a mass dance hall for official receptions, one of the largest sites in the famous site for more than a century.
His spokesman said that the president himself and private donors, whose identity has not been revealed, would finance this project in 200 million dollars.
“For 150 years, presidents, governments and White House staff have been waiting for a large reception room in the White House,” said Karoline Leavitt.
“There has never been any president who has been given for the dance halls,” said the 79 -year -old leader in an exchange with the press. “I am endowed with building things and will be built quickly and over time. It will be very beautiful,” said the former real estate developer, who said that the character of the original building would be preserved.
More than 8,000 m²
The new building must have an area of more than 8,000 m² and a capacity of 650 people, and the work must begin in September to finish “much earlier” at the end of Donald Trump’s second term on January 20, 2029, said the spokesman.
The objective is to welcome in particular the great dinners given in honor of foreign state chiefs, until now organized in a vast pavilion planted temporarily in the gardens.
The dance hall, according to public models by the White House, an imposing white building with very high windows, with columns and a frontispiece that reminds the main building, whose facade is known throughout the world. It must be built on the site of the current eastern wing, or “East wing”, where the offices of the First Lady are traditionally located.
One of the most important sites
This project promises to be one of the most important on site from the renewal and expansion work carried out by President Theodore Roosevelt at the beginning of the 20th century.
President Harry Truman had also supervised a great job between 1948 and 1952, without altering the external structure. Donald Trump has long mentioned his desire to build a dance hall in the White House, and said Thursday that he was inspired by the Golf Turnberry (Scotland) complex, one of the properties his family has.
His residence in Florida as a model
Its sumptuous Mar-A-Lago residence in Florida also serves as a model to shape the White House in its image. The Republican billionaire, inspired by the Mar-A-Lago courtyards, for example, dared to the grass of the famous White House Rose Garden, where official events often organize are often organized.
Donald Trump, who never stops in front of the ostentation, also loaded the oval office with golden ornaments and installed two immense American flags in Céspedes. The White House has been the residence, as well as the workplace of US presidents since 1800. The first to live there was John Adams, the second president of the United States. The building, burned in 1814 by the British troops, had been quickly rebuilt.
