A New Zealander was arrested this Sunday, August 3 after having traveled on a bus with a two -year -old girl locked in a suitcase, a police source said.
The 27 -year -old was accused of evil treatment and negligence towards a child, said a police officer Simon Harrison.

It was the bus driver who called the police during a stop in Kaiwaka, 100 kilometers north of Auckland, after noticing that something was moving in a suitcase.
“When the driver opened the suitcase, he discovered the two -year -old girl,” Simon Harrison said, saying that the latter had avoided “that it could have been a worse result.”
The boy, who was very hot but seemed physically unharmed, was hospitalized for an exhaustive medical examination, he added.
