A strategic advance that is amplified day after day. The Russian army said Tuesday, August 5, having conquered a new village in the Ukrainian region of Dnipropetrovsk (Center-East), recently affected by their troops that bite in this sector.
In a statement, the Russian Defense Ministry said the units of the “EST” group had “released” the town of Sitchnévé (Ianvarskoïe in Russian) located very close to the border with the Ukrainian region neighboring Donetsk.
It is the third town whose conquest is claimed by Moscow in this region. On July 7, they claimed to have conquered the town of Datché there, then on July 26, that of Maliïvka.
Ukraine has not yet reacted to this statement.
A diplomatic situation at a dead point
Although attacked by air attacks since the beginning of the great large -scale offensive against Ukraine in February 2022, the industrial region of Dnipropetrovsk was previously saved from the fighting on the front.
But after months of intense clashes, Kremlin’s troops approached him more and more, until he reached him.
Ukrainian troops, less numerous and less equipped, still have difficulties in certain parts of the front and retire to the Russian army, while negotiations between kyiv and Moscow to find a diplomatic result in the conflict are in point.
