North Korea eliminates the border propaganda speakers with South Korea

The South Korean army announced on Saturday, August 9, after having observed the movements of North Korea’s troops to eliminate the border propaganda speakers between the two countries. A sign of appeasement in the peninsula technically always at war.

The Manjar of the speakers. The South Korean Army said on Saturday, August 9, after having detected movements of North Korea troops that withdraw the propaganda speakers used to transmit disturbing noises along the border, a few days after the new Government of South Korea made the same gesture.

“South Korean soldiers have detected North Korean troops by dismantling propaganda speakers in certain areas along the front line since this morning,” South Korea’s team said on Saturday in a statement.

“It remains to be confirmed if these devices have been eliminated in all regions, the Army will continue to monitor related activities,” they added.

The two countries had already ceased propaganda emissions throughout the demilitarized area, after the election of President Lee Jae Myung, which seeks to appease tensions with Pyongyang.

Calm tensions between Koreans

On Monday, the Ministry of Defense of South Korea said that the country had begun to eliminate speakers as a practical measure destined to calm tensions with the north.

When he came to power in early June, the president promised to reach Pyongyang, arguing that “whatever cost, peace is preferable to war.”

His predecessor Yoon Suk Yeol, who maintained a hard line in front of Pyongyang, had begun to transmit K-Pop and bulletins in response to a series of balloons full of waste sent to the south by Pyongyang.

In retaliation, the north had begun to transmit disturbing noises along the border.

There is still no peace between the two Koreas

In June, Seoul had stopped issuing anti-pyongyang propaganda. The next day, Korea the next day has stopped transmitting the noises that interrupted the southern inhabitants of the southern line.

The two countries are technically still in the war, the 1950-1953 Korean war ended with an armistice and not with a peace treaty.
