The NGO Save Ukraine denounced, in X, the presence of an “online catalog” in which almost 300 stolen children in Ukraine would be present and destined to the adoption of Russian families. It would have been created by the occupation authorities installed in the Ukrainian region of Louhansk by Russia.
“The Russian occupation administration has launched a terrifying catalog of Ukrainian orphans, which is openly shown on the web. These children are presented as products in an online store, classified by age, sex, eyes color, health and even personality features,” writes Mykola Kuleba, founder of the association, committed in the repatriation of children in 2014 in Ukrina.
“Child Digital Traffic”
These data are shown in “The official website of the so -called” Ministry “of the Louhansk Occupation Administration,” specifies, and adds “that it is not a matter of adoption or care”, but “a digital child traffic, disguised as bureaucracy.” If the screenshots are added to the publication of the founder of the association, BFMTV.com could not consult the site.
According to the association, children present in the catalog have lost their parents or have been taken by force and “remake with new documents.”
Our colleagues in Figaro say they had access to a telegram loop that is that of the Ministry of Education and Sciences of the Popular Republic of Louhansk. The administration would confirm the creation of this “regional database of children who need a family.” She would also specify: “We hope she will find her son here and offer her a brilliant future.”
Almost 20,000 stolen children identified
The question of stolen children in Ukraine is in the heart of the conflict, since 2014. Several media have documented these kidnappings, such as BFMTV in the Red Line documentary Russia: Stolen children from Ukrainein March 2023.
Ukraine has identified almost 20,000 stolen children and forcibly transferred to Russia or the Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia, reports the kyiv Independent. However, according to authorities, the real number of stolen children could be 10 times higher.
According to the Ukrainian presidential councilor in charge of the rights of the child, they could be between 200,000 and 300,000.
