Up to “2 meters” lava: flow images observed at 3,100 m altitude in Etna

The last eruption of the Sicilian volcano last June. An issue of significant seismic variations has not yet been informed.

Impressive images of Etna. The famous volcano located in Sicily expelled the lava with a flow “that opened at 3,100 meters” at an altitude of approximately this weekend, according to Italian specialists.

The thickness of the measurement lava flow “between two meters and 1.5 meters” and has covered “about 150 meters” since this Saturday, August 9.

In the images captured during the first night of activity, one can see one of these explosions, in the southeast crater of the volcano.

“A lava flow that progresses very slowly”

Italian seismologists are currently mobilized to observe the “geological activity” from this Saturday night.

“We see a low Strombolian activity (expulsion of volcanic ash, note of the editor) of the southeast crater, as well as a lava flow (…) that progresses very slowly,” explain the specialists.

Last June, Etna was also active. The smoke and an intense and powerful flow of ashes and lava after a collapse in the southeast crater had been captured.
